I dont want any of the pages to be blocked from the Search Engines. Do i need to place a blank robots.txt file

I have a dilemma. I am about to put up another 20 sites. I can either use one of my old domains from 2001, but hasnt been hosted at all, most are .net OR I can pick up a new domains, register them ten years, and be good to go. Just wondering what everyone thinks. Will the aged domain give me the boo...
