Hello I was hoping someone could adivise me on a good "how to" for getting high search engine rankings. Also does anyone know of a good reputable service to submit my site to for search engines and links? Preferably nothing too expensive.

yea, Backlinks are must for getting a good rank in SE. so, for this you should try to submit your site some directories and if you can invest some money then you should buy links from high PR sites... 8)
