According to Adwords, there are four keyword matching options which help you determine your ad to appear in Google search. Each and every single keyword can be set as targeted keywords by using any of these four options.
The four types of keywords matching options are- Broad match: keyword This option allows your ad to be shown for similar phrase. For example, if your ad contains the keyword "wrist band" then your ad will be eligible to appear even when the user searches for either or both words. Like your ad may show on search for the following keywords - wrist, band, buy wrist band, wrist watch etc.
Phrase match: "keyword" This option allows your ad to be shown for the exact phrase. For example, if your ad contains the keyword "wrist band" then your ad will be eligible to appear only when the user searches for exact phrase "wrist band". The ad can also appear for search that contain other terms as long as it contain the exact phrase.
Exact match: [keyword] This option allows your ad to be shown for the exact phrase exclusively. For example, if your ad contains the keyword "wrist band" then your ad will be eligible to appear only when the user searches for specific phrase "wrist band". The ad will not be eligible to appear if the phrase contain other terms in it.
Negative match: -keyword This option ensures that your ad is not shown when any search contains the specific term.
Keyword matching option just requires you to add appropriate punctuation to the keyword while setting the target. With the use of appropriate matching you will get more ad impressions, clicks and conversion which will in turn helps us to meet the ROI goals. Labels: adwords ppc

This is the 1st time i feel Google is becoming a bit greedy. One of our client has a quality score 10/10 for a keyword related to windows. I cannot reveal keyword or client site here. Yesterday when i noticed the campaign i saw a 10/10 quality score for a keyword. I was overjoyed because usually very high quality score will result is low bids. Bit it was disappointment for me :-(. Asking bid was above 5$ for 1st page display.
Is Google joking it wants us to have great quality score but ends up asking 5$ for 1st page though we have 10/10 quality score. Can anyone explain this? I personally feel this is some sort of glitch or just greediness on part of Google.
If they think 10/10 is not enough they should remove the quality score completely. ill provide screen shot soon. Right now my gmail is down and the adwords login information is in my account. Labels: adwords ppc

Cookies are the most irritating spy wares that you will come across. They get stored in your computer without your knowledge and later end up spying your activities even If you don't to be spyed. The concept of cookies itself is shady and I recommend to stay away from spy cookies. Google Adwords and adsense uses double click cookie on client websites. A cookie is stored when someone tries to visit some web page by clicking Google ads. Most of the websites never give opt out option for cookies. But Google is offering complete opt out of double click cookie that it uses to spy on personal user activity.
To opt out go to the following URL:
https://www.google.com/ads/preferences/plugin/ Save your opt-out preference permanently With this browser plugin you can permanently opt out of the double click cookie, which is an advertising cookie that Google uses. The plugin lets you keep your opt-out status for this browser even when you clear all cookies. Opt out Opt out if you prefer ads not to be based on the interest categories above. Features I would like to see with new Beta UI in Adwords:

- To be faster!
- Fit to screen, scrolling left and right constantly is frustrating.
Scrolling just to find the filter button or logout is just not the Google way! Some of these columns can be squeezed up. Is the show and hide deleted items disappeared? Please bring this back. Apparently has time zone issues that need fixing. Personally feel that the default layout to be more like the original as not to be such a shock, ie. Hide the left navigation, sort Campaign list by name.. let users change it to fit them. Ability to filter out deleted items. I cant filter out delete keywords from the compaign view.
I was attempting to work with ad scheduling in the new interface, and the hover pages (such as ad scheduling or adding placements) are quite difficult to work with. In the old interface, I can see most of these pages without an issue. In the new UI, working with either of these options is very difficult as now you have a lot more vertical scrolling, and can't see an entire week (for ad scheduling) in one view.
I'm having weird problems with site exclusions on the automatic placements. When I exclude some sites, it doesn't update the screen correctly, and seem to exclude sites I hadnt ticked. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc
Google Nixed Yahoo! Partnership

Everyone was talking about it Google's plan to make partnership with Yahoo! in providing pay per click ads for Yahoo!s network. At last Google pulled out of the partnership plan. It seems Google pulled out of the deal because of anxiety over the Department of Justice looking closely at the deal to make sure that no antitrust laws were being violated. Google likely didn't want to take a chance of the Department of Justice interfering in its business practices as that would have revealed some informational secrets that Google didn't want to release. Yahoo! is still defending the deal. How will this new situation affect advertisers? The advertisers won't be able to increase their reach to the Yahoo! network if they are Google advertisers only. If they want to reach Yahoo! Users, then they will have to advertise through Yahoo!s PPC interface. Though Yahoo!s PPC interface is less expensive, it is not as effective as Google's. Google has improved the ad quality scores. These improvements better evaluate the precise quality of your ads and improve the way Google determines which ads show in the yellow region above the search results. AdWords has always accounted for the influence of ad position on CTR and removed it from the Quality Score. This specific improvement updates this system to make it fresher and more accurate.
The main features of the updation are -
1) More precise Quality Score calculation
2) Higher quality ads above the search results
These enhancements may cause changes to your ad position, spend, and performance. Let us wait and see. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc

On Tuesday, Google released version 6.5 of AdWords Editor. This release includes several features to help us navigate and manage our account, such as a new Keyword Opportunities tool, horizontal scrolling in the data view, and auto-sizing columns. New features are included and you can see them in the release notes. If you're already using AdWords Editor, you'll be prompted to upgrade automatically. This update won't require you to re-download your account, and it won't affect your comments and unposted changes. When prompted simply choose the 'Update without Backup' option. Then, after you upgrade, your account will already be in the new version of AdWords Editor.
If you're not using AdWords Editor, go to Google website [https://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/] and download 'AdWords Editor'.

Why you are using pay per click advertising? You don't want your targeted users to miss your service when they are searching for that. Estimations show that 10% - 25% of searchers click on the paid search ad. If your website is not listing is 1st or 2nd page of Search engine result, you will loose majority of your users. Many marketers are satisfied with 75% of the search market that clicks on the organic listing. But revenue is revenue. It is hard to see people click on someone else's paid search and missing your service. Right? Why should you loose your target audience? According to SEM researchers, out 12% of the searchers on search engines clicked on the top pay per click ad and 7% clicked on sponsored links on the side of the search results. That's 19%. If you are not running some kind of search marketing campaign through paid search then you will miss some sales. Try to maintain PPC campaign along with your SEO tactics. If you are 1st or 2nd in the organic search result, you can pause your PPC and when you are down in organic, you can resume your ppc. One of our clients is doing the same. He's ranking top for "auto transport". If he's going down means he will start ppc. He is ready to pay $30(cpc) to get the first position in PPC. Labels: adwords ppc, pay per click

Include misspelled and competitor adgroups in your campaign. If you are waiting for people correctly knowing the spelling of the keywords or people searching for your company only, your ad is not going to work well in search engines. Try to include maximum misspelled keywords in your misspelled adgroup and top competitors in your competitor adgroup. If someone searching for your competitor gets attracted by your adcopy and apply for your service. Why should we spoil one lead? Suppose your company ad is coming in local radio and someone hearing this ad trying to locate your website. It is not sure that whether he knows the spelling of your company or the product he's searching for. Our wristband campaign is getting many clicks and conversions for "ristbands", "wristbands", "wristbands" etc. So bidding on misspellings is an intelligent way to increase the efficiency of your PPC advertising. Try this now itself if you haven't experiment this before. Labels: adwords ppc, google adwords, MSN adcenter, yahoo search marketing

One of my clients home page was too heavy. He was spending $1200/day and getting min of 1100 clicks/day. But conversion was only few conversions. We requested them to give access to their server. With my boss's help I started to examine the pages. That website home page was filled with heavy flashes and images. the header image was 3MB in size!!!!!!!!! There were 5 javascrip files and 2 style sheets calling in that page. Out of that 7 files only 4 were actually using by the home page. We created a dummy home page and removed the unwanted pages and flashes. We changed all flash files to gif anf jpg. Thus we could make the file size by less than half. We used that dummy home page for PPC adverting and checked the conversions. The page was working perfectly and we started to get better conversion. So we replaced the original homepage with this dummy. So from organic search also my client started to get nice conversions.
So always careful about your landing pages. If your landing page is not loading fast, create your own dummy landing pages with less script and images. Nobody has time to wait 2-3 minutes to load your page. Labels: adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

Always keep in mind that people from which countries are going to see and click on your ads. Setting geographic location is not enough many times. The language and slang of your ads also should be geo-targeted. What I mean by this is if you are targeting people in US, your ads should contain their slang, common phrases and so on. Ads with an Indian taste will not digest for those people. So be specific when writing ads for your clients. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

Happy news. Google keyword tool started to provide approximate search volume of a keyword for the previous month. Before it was not possible to get the actual search volume value. At last Google changed their mind to disclose the statistics. Now the keyword tool provides a better service and all other paid keyword search sites and tools became outdated. If you are doing adwords PPC only, go blindly. This tool is enough for you. Who else can give you a better report than this?

We were running a perfume campaign for many months. At the first stage, we were not getting any clicks. There were huge impressions. My adgroups were not in the top 10. So i kept keyword bids as $2 to get them in the 3rd or 4th position. Then we started to get nice clicks. So we increased our daily spending limit. After that only we stated to track conversions. Unfortunately there were only few conversions. I started to modify the adcopies and bids and filter for more negatives. No use. Then I checked with the client's website. That is working perfectly. Nice bottles, nice description and easy purchasing steps. This also didn't help much. At last, I came to one conclusion. The first time buyer of a unique brand will not buy a perfume by reading its description online. They may like to smell and buy. It's nice if there were a hardware which can help us smell things online. Hope the conversions seen in ppc have come from the regular users of branded perfumes.
Heyyyyyy is there anyone who's profitably running a perfume campaign? I think perfume is not the right product to advertise online. So I have paused the campaign temporarily. Labels: adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

How to make your adcopy more attractive? While starting a campaign, you are not sure about what are the main keyword phrases which will be searched by your targeted visitors. Many people will give the same adcopy for all the keywords in an adgroup. Why don't you try different adcopies with different titles? At least, you can give different titles. Because title is the first line noticed by a user. Keep the titles you feel ok in the first stage. Monitor the campaign for sometime. Then you can check the report and find which the most searched keyword phrases are. Keep them as new titles for your adcopy. If people see the keyword which they have searched as the title of an adcopy, 99.99% of them will click on your ad. I have tried this and my campaigns are working better than before. Any other suggestions? Share it here. Labels: adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

In my "Eco Alliance Waterless Campaign", suddenly I could see many clicks but few leads. I started to check each adgroup. Then Icould find that the ads which have a word "Cost" in title are getting more clicks. As the keywords like "ariticial grass cost", "artificial turf cost", "waterless lawn cost" etc were getting maximum impressions, I have given those keywords as title for my new ad variations. Actually the landing pages were not telling about the actual cost for the product. So people who wanted to know about the price before purchase might be clicked on my ads. So be careful. Don't give the term "Cost" in your adcopy if the landing page doesn't say anything about the cost for the service/product. Another main word to avoid is "free". Use this word in your adcopy only if you are sure that the product or service is absolutely free. Many people use "free shipping" in their ads. But most of the time there will be a cost for shipping or free shipping is available only if the purchase cost is above a particular amount. It seems that ladies are more attracted by the term "free shipping". If people come to your site and see that the shipping is not free as advertised, 90-95% people will drop purchase and go back. What's the point in paying Google again and again without any leads? SO concentrate more in your adcopy. It can strengthen and spoil your PPC. 2 days before I saw an alert in my eco alliance waterless grass account that my client account has run out of balance and my ads wouldn't be no longer visible. I was sure that my client has done a payment recently. Suddenly I checked it in Account details tab and I could see that the last payment done by my client using an AmEx card was declined. Google send a notice that we have to pay $350 immediately to make the campaign active. Suddenly we contacted the client. Then only we could realize that he has changed his AmEx card after that payment. We explained him the situation. Suddenly he gave us the new card details and we settled down the issue. It didn't take much time for the campaign to become active. Now everything working perfectly. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

Hi friends, I was thinking to write something seriously. But I didn't get any idea. So now planning to share something that is happening with my PPC accounts. This week I was trying to fix conversion tracking code in purchase page of my client's web site. When I opened the purchase page surprisingly I could see one conversion tracking code already presented there. But I couldn't see that conversion tracking label in adwords. May be the client has placed it long time back. My confusion was if I place a new conversion code whether it will work or not. I ran to my boss. He told me to place the code and wait for sometime. As this purchase page is dynamic and redirect to login page when we give the URL, we have to wait till a real time conversion happens. Anyway I uploaded the page. Hey... but it really worked. From the very next day my adwords tracking code started to register conversions. Do you think the presence of 2 different tracking codes prevent adwords to show the actual number of conversions? Whether you had such experience? Please share with us. Anyway I am monitoring it in a daily basis. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc, google adwords, pay per click, PPC management

It is seen that people are adding all broad-matching keywords without negatives. Broad match can create thousands of search results and majority of them will not be relevant to your ads. So its a powerful way to include negatives. You can include -ves either in campaign level or in adgroup level. That will help to stop your ads from showing for irrelevant searches. So find maximum negatives for your keywords. Labels: adwords ppc, MSN adcenter, pay per click, yahoo search marketing

It is not advisable to send all your traffic to your home page. Suppose you are a florist and running an online floral ordering site. It will not convert much if you are dropping people who are searching for "orchid" in your homepage which contains details about hundreds of flowers. It is better to drop them in a page which contains details about most wanted orchid species like Anguloa, Cattleya, Cymbidium, Laelia etc. Give website user the opportunity to find their result at first click. A messy home page will tempt them to close that site and go back for a new search. Remember you have to pay for each click. Better send the visitors to the page they asked for in the first click itself. Labels: adwords ppc, MSN adcenter, pay per click, yahoo search marketing

Some changes have made to Google Adwords - My Client Center (MCC) Dashboard"We've made some changes to make managed account information more accessible and useful from the highest levels of the MCC. Performance and Budget statistics for managed accounts are now broken into separate tabbed pages, giving you a faster view of key stats across managed accounts without requiring you to drill down for further information.
On the Performance page, you'll find stats on clicks, conversions and conversion rates, as well as separate columns for Search and Content CTR, allowing for easier comparison of performance based on network placement. On the Budget page, you'll find detailed information about start and end dates, percent of budget spent and total spend for each account. MCC performance statistics will now be more frequently updated (within 2-3 hours). Please take some time to put the new MCC Dashboard to the test, and tell us what you think by following the feedback link on your MCC." Labels: adwords ppc

Recently one of our client account was badly hit with lower Quality score. It was difficult to figure out what the possible reason is. Quality score of some 200 keywords suddenly went poor which is not health for our campaign. We researched a bit and found in some forums people facing similar problems. Most probable reason most of the advertisers guess is the problem with the landing page. If the Adwords Bot visits the site when the website is down Google adwords slap the account and relevant keywords with a Poor quality score. We do agree with this point since the site we are working on was down for about 2 days due to hosting problems and since it was a weekend we didn't pause the campaign and it resulted in bad quality score. But the status returned back to Good when the site was live back again. So be careful when your site goes down its important to pause the campaign is something like this happens.

In webmaster world shorebreak an active member says
"I've heard of at least two people who in the last 24-36 hours have received emails from Google stating that Automatic Match will go 'Production' as of May 20th, and that the checkbox for it will be pre-checked; that most likely means it will be an opt-out feature, not the opt-in feature that one would have assumed would be the case. I'll go out on a limb and say that this is one of the 3-4 most profound changes to AdWords and the entire paid search industry that have ever occurred, right up there with Quality Score, Broad Match and AdSense. While those of us who live and breathe SEM will no doubt monitor this closely and make ROI-based decisions as to whether to use Automatic Match or not, IMO the majority of AdWords advertisers will start paying a massive surcharge as of next Tuesday. "
I see immediately Adwords Advisor dismisses his claim saying this post is wrong and Google has nothing like this active now, Following is Adwords Advisor reply
"I almost never post on the weekends, however - with today being the exception that proves the rule. I felt I had to jump in briefly to say that the headline of this thread and text of the post quoted above are simply not correct. Rumors that take on a life of their own trouble me, actually, and I don't want to see that happen here. What is happening: Automatic Matching has been in beta for some time as regular readers of this forum will know - and starting on May 20th the beta will be expanded somewhat. Even with the expansion of the beta, the number of advertisers who will see this beta option in their account is truly tiny. Again, to be very clear Automatic Matching goes not go live 5/20. I'll gather some more details when I get back to work on Monday, and post again. AWA " Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc

In webmasterworld a member asks
"I figure only someone from Google like AdWordsAdvisor can answer this, but I'm curious. I appreciate that ordinarily bidding is converted to $USD and it's pretty much real-time and at regular interchange rates, and there is no advantage from using one currency or another. My question concerns the maximum bid of $US100. In other currencies, the maximum bid is roughly equivalent to $US100, but is rounded. So instead of it being £51.445622 today, it is probably something like £50.00. This figure seems to only get updated every month or so. So, if the maximum £GBP bid of £50 equals $97.19, does someone bidding the maximum allowable in $USD ($US100) have an advantage over someone in bidding the maximum allowable in £GBP (£50.00/$97.19)? "
and Adwords Advisor replies
"I think I have spent somewhere in the neigborhood of 16,500 hours (I just did the math) working with AdWords and AdWords advertisers, and this is the first time I've ever heard this question. :) I'm not saying that it's not a good question. Just that it's one that I have never thought about - nor have I had occasion to research it. And yes, this is a longish way of saying that I don't know the answer. ;) And, in a sense it's a bit academic since one's postion does not depend on Max bid alone - and all the factors are constantly in motion, rather than at a standstill. It's worth remembering that the advertiser 'A' who is in position 'X' might actually be paying less than the advertiser 'B' below them - if advertiser 'A's quality is better. I have had much less time to post on this forum recently, and have not made it a point to get an answer to this question due to that (bordering on severe) lack of time. That said, I will try to run down an answer - but, to set reasonable expectations, I can not speak to how soon that will happen. ;)"
Though the question is not too important its something different and worth while to hear Labels: adwords ppc

Jeremy of PPC discussions has a very good write up on Frequently asked questions about Google adwords quality score. Some of the questions answered:
Question 1 - How can I improve my quality score? Question 2 - How many quality scores are there? Question 3 - Will changing to a different keyword match type, for example from broad match to exact match, give me a better quality score? Question 4 - I have been told (and read lots of places) that when I first start a new AdWords campaign I should bid really high so my ad is higher on the page. That will give me a higher click through rate and that means I will have a better quality score. Is that good advice? Question 5 - Having Flash on your landing page is bad for your quality score right? Question 6 - I get a lot of clicks from the Google Search Network. Does that help improve my quality score? Question 7 - Does using dynamic keyword insertion help my quality score? Question 8 - Does turning off the content network help improve my quality score? My CTR is always a lot lower on the content network so I assume turning it off will help my quality score improve. Question 9 - How can I find out what my quality score is? Question 10 - I am the only person bidding on a certain keyword but my minimum bid is higher than I think it should be. If I'm the only one bidding how come my minimum bid isn't $0.01? My quality score is "OK". Question 11 - I just a made a lot of changes to my AdWords campaigns and to my landing pages to try and improve my quality score. How soon should I expect to see quality score changes in my account? Question 12 - I just added a bunch of new keywords to my account and almost 1/2 of them received a poor quality score and minimum bid of $5.00 right away before I ever received a single impression. How the hell can Google say I have a poor quality score before my ad even gets a chance to run? Question 13 - It seems like no matter what I do or try my quality score is always poor. Are there certain types of sites that just don't work well with AdWords? Question 14 - Is there a site or something I can sign up to find out in advance about quality score updates before they happen?

I have seen many people ask this question how to track keywords triggering broad match. Well there is no definite solution for this. Google doesn't provide a way to see which keywords trigger broad match. But one thing is for sure broad match is mostly triggered if you set a high enough bid and don't have any restrictions on the keyword. Restrictions like geo-targeting, low max bid will stop the keyword from being triggered by a broad match. Also if the broad match option is disabled it will not show broad match. As Fast as i know there is no definite solution for find broad match keywords. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc
Landing page load time now part of Quality Score in Google Adwords

After a long wait Google has enhanced their quality scoring algorithm to take Landing page load time into consideration.
Landing page load time now plays an important role. Starting mid of June Load time of html of a page will be important for better Quality Score. Good quality score is important for any campaign. If you have a limited budget its important to take Quality score seriously since it reduces the cost of advertising significantly. Ads will show up higher if the Quality score is higher for a particular advertiser even if the bid for that keyword is less than that of his competitors.
"How is landing page load time evaluated?
Landing page load time is determined by:
I. The domain of your ad group's landing pages
A keyword's load time grade is based on the average load time of the landing pages in the ad group and of any landing pages in the rest of the account with the same domain. If multiple ad groups have landing pages with the same domain, therefore, the keywords in all these ad groups will have identical load time grades.
Two things to note:
When determining load time grade, the AdWords system follows destination URLs at both the ad and keyword level and evaluates the final landing page. If your ad group contains landing pages with different domains, the keywords' load time grades will be based on the domain with the slowest load time. All the keywords in an ad group will always have the same load time grade. Let's look at an example:
Say your account has four ad groups, and each ad group uses a different landing page: example.com/apple, example.com/orange, example.com/pear, and your-company-site.com. The first three share the same domain: example.com. Keywords in the first three ad groups will all have the same landing page load time grade, which will be based on the average load time of example.com/apple, example.com/orange, and example.com/pear.
II. Your server's geographic region
We evaluate your load time relative to the average in your server's geographic region. If your website is hosted on a server in India, for example, your landing page load time will be compared to the average load time in that region of India. This is true even if your website is intended for an audience in the United States.
III. Your page's HTML
Currently, landing page load time measures the time it takes to download the HTML content of your landing page. However, in the future, the load time of images, flash, video, JavaScript, and other components will be considered as well. We therefore recommend that you optimize all components of your page for the quickest possible load time.
IV. Multiple readings
To ensure accuracy, we take several load time measurements, drop the worst, and average those remaining. If your landing page is down for one of these readings, therefore, it won't affect your load time grade.

These are rare cases but there are accounts in AdWords that gets suspended permanently for violation of Quality guidelines. A webmaster in webmasterworld reported that is site has permanently suspended due to repeated violation of guidelines. webmasterworld.com/google_adwords/3635680.htms In the above thread robin ponty says that his site has been suspended permanently. His site is an escort site. Escort sites are subject to strong review and its important to check the site with Google quality guidelines if once the site has been suspended. Here Robin points out that he continued to make the mistake of continuing with the account ever after repeated temporary suspension. He agrees that his site did violate quality guidelines due to some photos that are against Google AdWords quality guidelines. I recommend if you are facing similar problems make sure you read the quality guidelines and act according to it. Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc

Google adwords team have improved their conversion tracking algorithm to have each actions being tracked independently. Before we cannot track actions we set independently now we can setup different actions for the targeted business and track actions and conversions based on that.
Conversion tracking is a very important part of PPC advertising nowadays. Good conversion tracking will lead to best conversions also it will be great to track the different keywords which ones are better converting that way we get an idea on the conversions available for the site. Conversion tracking with Google analytics is the best and a very good long term solution. Labels: adwords ppc, PPC management

Have you ever been charged more than your advertising bid is some cases yes this happens. We did encounter this in some of our client sites. So what causes this after digging deeper we were able to find the mistake in this.
In programme like MSN ADcenter PPC we have 2 options where we can set separate bids for content PPC as well as the ad group. So sometimes the ad group will override content bid and this could cause a higher price even more than the bid limit since there are 2 different bids involved. Make sure you check this before searching for solutions.
Check to see if the bid optimizer is causing any problems
Make sure if you have your preferred position as 1 0r 2 sometimes this may override your max bid,

I have seen many people advertise their information based products in Google adwords or other PPC advertising programme but in Search engines like Google many free stuff tend to rank better than the paid ads. So does Google worry about it . I would say no. People like free stuff much more than paid stuff they want to visit free websites and get their necessary stuff than buying online. When something is sold that is already available for free online people tend to go get them free instead of buying them. This is the nature of Google users and google is very well aware of it. For them Customer satisfaction is the priority and more the customers are satisfied better its for their advertising programme so I am sure Google is not worried about free stuff ranking about paid adwords advertising.

I am sure if you used Adwords before you should have definitely used Google analytics. Google analytics is google hosted version of Urchin a popular Analytics software which Google acquired few years back. Its a very successful online tracking software which provides a useful user friendly platform to check the validity of your results.
Urchin had been running for a long time as a beta version. Google has a tradition of running their softwares for a long time in beta mode to get user satisfaction and once they get positive feedback they will make bring out of beta,
Urchin is a hosted software which Google analytics is Google hosted. You can download Urchin and install it on your server and you and use it to monitor your traffic and logs real time unlimited on many sites. Urchine costs 3000$ and I am sure its worth the cost.
According to official Google Analytics Blog,
"Urchin formed the basis of Google Analytics, released in 2005. But, while Google Analytics is a Google-hosted service, Urchin is software that you run on your own servers. This makes Urchin ideal for certain applications. You might use it if you:
want to analyze your firewall-protected content, such as an intranet have 5 years' worth of old server log data to analyze need to know if your site's visitors are getting "Page Not Found" (404) errors need to have your site's traffic data audited by a third party need to create custom reports or integrate with other tools, like a CRM system need to integrate your e-commerce logs directly with Urchin "

There are lot of advantages on bidding on your competitor keywords. Bidding on the competition's keywords will give an immediate targeted exposure especially for new websites. New websites find it difficult to make profits from PPC since most of the ads they participate will be costly and they need to pay a hefty amount for it. Bidding on competitor keywords will make that job much easier.
Though Google has a tough stance on bidding on competitor's keywords especially keywords that are Trademarked by the competitor still they don't deny a good user experience. If they feel some thing is good for their users they don't hesitate to do it. As per their policy if a user is satisfied seeing a competitor ad then mostly they allow it. I have personally experienced this when we advertise with Google PPC.
You can also enable benchmarking service for adwords which will allow you to compare your site with competitors. According to Google Analytics support "Benchmarking is an optional Google Analytics service that shows how your website's statistics compare against other industry verticals. In the beta version of this service, you are able to compare your site's Visits, Pageviews, Pages per Visit, Bounce Rate, Average Time on Site, and New Visits data against benchmark data from categories of other participating websites. You can use this data to gain broader context for your site so you can identify additional opportunities to improve your site's metrics. This service is located under the "Visitors" section of your reports. Select "Benchmarking (Beta)" to view this report. Please note that it will take up to two weeks for the data to appear since it is being categorized and collected for your reports" PPC Blog Team Labels: Adwords, adwords ppc, Analytics, google analytics
Paid clicks More than Organic clicks

For many sites there is a situation where the Paid click throughs from Search Engine Result Pages are much more than organic search results . Here is a small check list on what causes this.
1. If your site is not performing well in Organic but you have a good budget and your spending power on adwords is much higher I am sure you will have more click throughs from adwords.
2. Position of your adwords campaign keywords matter if you are bidding for the top 3 spots your results will show above organic search results. This will give more exposure and will result in maximum click throughs much more than Organic search engine results.
3. You have more control over what it shows up in Paid results. For example your title and description is far better in adwords campaign than in a Organic Search result. For targeted users this is an added advantage.
4. Keyword broad matching in a Adwords campaign will result in your ads showing more often which might result in more click throughs.
5. Positioning of your keywords in Organic search results matter say you have adwords campaign running on top part of the page and your organic search engine rankings are in the lower part of the page I am sure your click throughs from adwords campaign is much higher than the SEO results.
