Optimize Your Work – Entertainment Balance
As a part of our work we have entertainment daily for 1 hour intended for our mind relaxation which is based on optin or optout basis. As our MD is a person who not only optimizes sites but also feels optimization of work and entertainment is also very important. Monday’s are fully dedicated to work. Tuesday are known as Music Tuesday’s were we have dhumsharads and anthakshary with film songs. Every Wednesday is Known as Debate Wednesday were we have two groups one talking for the topic and another talking against the topic. Some of the topics which we had were, Science a boon or bane to society, Co-education good or bad to this generation, Human Rights and Love marriage vs arranged marriage. Thursday’s are considered as Dance Thursday’s were we are being taught different varieties of dances such as salsa and many more. Alternate Friday’s we have assorted games which is also treated as a get-together for all the employees.
Bob Delozier Treat at Liu’s Waldorf
As a part of our dedicated work and appreciation, one of our esteemed clients Bob Delozier offered a lunch at Adyar’s Liu’s Waldorf restaurant on which is one the Chennai’s oldest Chinese restaurant run by a Chinese family who originally started it. The entire Contempo family enjoyed the lunch, thanks to our special entertainers like Ms. Gana Kuyil Vanetha who made us laugh with her amazing ice cream eating styles! 😉 The entire restaurant was filled with howls and laughter and this was an awesome unforgettable Saturday. Thank you for the treat Delzier, we are really privileged to work with you.
Niranjan Found New Source of Conveying Words

Running Mad in Blue Lagoon
Finally last games Saturday we ended up outdoors in Blue Lagoon at 3 p.m., unfortunately the climate was sultry but we managed to catch some fun. As usual everyone was split into groups. Although we planned to have four games, we had time to play only one “Catch Me If You Can!” Of course the boys had most of the fun running around especially our tireless ATO hunk. However some of the girls managed to outrun the guys and most girls said to themselves; “Why Boys have all the fun!”. When the game came to an end, the entire gang was panting with no energy to play further. Thanks to our HR who got us permission to have some fun in the beach. The guys were enjoying their swims and gals enjoyed the salty breeze and wetting their feet as the sun was setting.
New policy – another step forward
What is the new smile in the core members’ faces? Why is that the reception telephone keep ringing? Employees in the reception keep reporting to the HR about the phone calls and why is the HR’s face lit so brightly? All these questions keep wriggling in the minds of the other employees who are not aware of the company’s new policy. To all those who did not know about the recent ‘happening’ thing in our company, Search Engine Genie recruits external employees. Here external employees shall mean free lance writers from the city who will be paid for the contents they write for the company. We have a recruiting team that is strong which will be followed by the evaluation team.
Search Engine genie is known for its quality contents and there is a strict scrutinizing that is happening to select the best among those who have applied. The content writers of the company are contented with the new policy of the company. That is quite obvious from the extra effort of niranjan and vanitha helping out HR with the recruitment. With one advertisement in a newspaper, the numbers of phone calls were unbelievably many. Let’s be happy in the development of our company marching towards the Optimum level.
A slap and a resource!!!!
Hey people!! Guess what? A slap can be the best resource to retain employees. Search Engine Genie witnessed it last Saturday. The reason that was given was “the Chris Mom and Chris Child” relationship exists till date where this Chris mom had the audacity to slap the Chris child with all josh and fun. Though the reason seemed to be quite far from reality, we still have the suspicion on the vitality of the slap at that point of time. Consider the sequence. This Chris Mom had just turned from a very happening place with full spirits, when (s)he found the Chris Child playing around with the mouse (because his physique won’t support playing with larger things straight to his place and gave a tight slap on the face.
Guess the reaction of the child!! It was the same and continued the play with the mouse (though it was an embarrassment) When asked for the reason, the MOM said that she was still in the winter season not being able to forget the Christmas celebrations. The whole office giggled for the fact and the conditions turned funny. Within friends, a slap meant a pat and it was not outta authority but happiness. The Child was moved and his smile told us that he will be committed to the organization both through labor and good fellowships. HR policy is fulfilled!!
Practice sessions did not teach just dance
Search Engine Genie had its best days in the practice sessions of the cultural evening. The cultural day was a success and all the speculators who watched, had the amazement of how the programme was full of life. They were more amazed when we told we scarcely had time for practices. When Boss had told about the cultural extravaganza it was all fine. The participants list went around pages. But once it came for the serious sessions, the players and the participants were in the air. The practices started in the morning which demanded extra efforts and many alarm clocks around. Our HR Nikita was motivated continuously to attend.
Our Boss Vijay Sir, talented and interested in dance and dramas will be ready before all employees leaving others to feel guilty of their commitment. But till we entered with bare foot into the field of dance, we did not understand how rhythmic it can be and how wonderful it can turn our days. Drama practices in the evening were amazing with loads of fun guaranteed. All this gave us a lesson; nothing can be enjoyed unless you take an initiative to enjoy it. Many stuff to write on cultural events. Wait and watch the fun.
Saturday’s Fun Filled with Chair Tossing and Peanuts!
As usually the entire staffs were waiting to have some fun this Saturday afternoon with their new teams. The first game itself began with an unexpected big bang as we staffers began to search for our team head’s names under our chain! You won’t believe the scream and sound created when tossing those plastic chairs for this 1 minute game! It was super exciting! We also enjoyed the Catch the Peanut game kadala podrathu 🙂 and The game is about catching the peanuts, seems to be easy right? Wait a second; here you need to catch them with your mouth! Though the game was tricky, three staffs were able to play so well and so quick!
“Sketch the Cartoon” was also great! Except the cartoon characters the dog became an elephant and Lord Ganesh turned into an alien! Mr. Boss’s team was able to score better with their rapidity but their sketch turned to be a tragedy! Thank God Walter Disney didn’t see our drawings! 🙂 The Memory Menu game also went well and it was definitely the toughest and the most confusing game! Almost all teams scored poorly but the players were drooling when they saw all those food on their fake menu cards! The final game “Guess Who” lasted for more than an hour, running around with our questions and looking for the right person! Team 7.5 Saturnz came first and took away Glass wares and Coffee Flasks! Team Fantastic 4 came second and bagged lovely Photo frames and Team Deepan took away attractive Tea Cups as third prizes.
VK and his Jean
We often wonder why Mr. VK (one of our beloved team leader) doesn’t wear jeans. Is it because of his built or may be doesn’t like denims. Some of his team members know that Mr. VK does own a pair of jeans but no one knows why he doesn’t prefer to wear em’. Just like a normal day, people started entering office and girls busy with their gossips at side. Look what’s around and that is VK entering office with an awesome pair of jean tucked. Wao and This was a day we were extremely surprised to see Mr. VK in a pair of grey faded jean.
Females of SEG are anyways impressed with him, as he is a cool dude with naughty style. VK’s jean added limelight to female staffers; they were actually happy and excited to see him like that 🙂 Then most of us were curious to ask him what made him bring this change? Well, this went unanswered by VK. Anyways, most of our staffers love the way he walks (I know this is sarcastic) with his “tight” pants from Development Lab 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 with his checked handkerchief and giggling around. Mr. VK is definitely a humorous person and much loved being in our workplace.
SEG commitment irrespective of places
Search engine Genie employees get so enthused whenever there is a function or event in any of the colleagues place. If it is from the core team, the joy knows no bounds. Yes, it was Prasanthi’s marriage. Prasanthi our company’s Chief Operational Officer held hands with the one she liked and dreamt of living together. With that added happiness of Prasanthi, all the employees arrived at the marriage hall with great excitement and energy. All rushing to the far off place was to see Prasanthi pretending to be a good girl. (Lol) With garlands and jewelry, our COO was cuddling in happiness and smiles. Her glow in the face lit big time, when she saw a huge loving crowd approaching her.
All this happiness and excitement in the marriage reception hall was no longer the same. Before the employees got up towards the dining hall, there was a voice which had the audacity to tell “stop”. The employees turned to look the CEO himself arranging the chairs with the help of certain others. Please, is that here? We like it, but we can’t have it here!! This is marriage hall. And yes, it is the same which everyone was confused of. IT WAS THE COMPANY’S MEETING. Though the reason that our CEO gave was logical and even when it was all about the entertainments for us, the aroma from the dining hall and the ambience did not allow us to participate completely. In the course of time we all were on track. SEG rocks in this context. But we could still hear people telling “What a commitment!” amused by our acts. Might be a sarcastic tone, but it was rather true.
