Know the basics of Article Writing, Wednesday, April 16, 2008

The easiest way to think of an article is to pick up a magazine and speak about it when you are shopping or hanging out somewhere. If that kind stuff doesn't seem to work for you, then try thinking of an article from the creative part of your brain! One of the biggest misconceptions about articles is that they're supposed to promote a particular business or company. On the contrary, articles must give information, even tips or advice, but it shouldn't be promotional.

At no time an article should refer to your trade or business in any way other than as group of businesses which are a good source of whatsoever guidance you are offering. Let this be put in terms of layman point of view: If your company is selling electronic items, but you are not the only one which does, an article will be a good way to offer advice or tips on picking electronic items from a good company, such as from yours and possibly from any other quality company. You might include links to your website from that particular article, with the exception of the writer or author's information; your company won't be mentioned in any promotional way.

Promotion is a curse of the article. Many quality websites where companies like to send articles to be published to the netizens won't release an article if they are promoting in any way. Many find myself themselves often editing articles written by some other people that start out really well, providing advice on a particular matter, but then stray into how their firm can aid with their needs and what exactly they provide. That is always a big no with an article; as soon as you stray into promotion, this means you are writing something totally different.
