DO FOLLOW LINKS SPAMMING
Google and other top search engines launched a tag; we call it the nofollow tag to fight comment spamming. Comment spam was a major problem for search engines and to fight this they introduced the Nofollow tag which will tell the search engines not to follow that particular link or give any PageRank benefit for them.
This was a very effective method to avoid comment spam or fight them so almost all blog service providers adapted to this. Nofollow came integrated with Wordpress, blogger, type pad and other blog software providers. But some people protested against it. They feel Nofollow destroys the natural web.
Some bloggers removed the nofollow from their blog and allowed PageRank to flow to all the comments and links on their blogs. This helped some search engine optimization companies. They searched Google to get this list of Do-follow blogs and just post junk comments on their blogs to gain links. If you search Google for dofollow blogs you will come across lot of sites, they provide links to blogs that allow comments without no-follow.
Some aggressive SEO guys take these list and just do "me too" comments and post their links in these blogs to gain search engine benefit. This is become a headache for search engines because spam comments do get into these blogs and they are not indicated to a search engine that they are spam because these blogs don't have any nofollow tag in them. This is a problem and menace for search engines.
But there are some rare cases where dofollow blogs actually attract people write good comments. It gives them the freedom and also helps them get back their favor for valuable comments they make.
