Micro blog or micro blogging is the next generation of blogging where the users type / send texts or updates similar to the offline SMS system. Excellent example of micro blogging is twitter which has risen to its peak in the last 2 years. Micro blogs have lot of good benefits. It reduces the time for conveying your message with large posts. It is fast and reaches people better. Twitter has come up to be one of the leading online portals due to the concept of micro blogging.
Similar to micro sites we also have a huge thriving spam industry in micro blogs. They are just tiny blogs made to spam the search engines by sending them traffic. They add all manipulated contents to make the search engine believe they are relevant to the query and get traffic from search engines. Even the micro blog sites like twitter, tumblr, are used to spam the search engines. We have seen over 150 updates a day from certain people, most of them are just junk and some are them are done primarily to spam the search engines.
Micro blog spammers also tie up with cyber criminals to use micro blogging platforms to spread malwares.
