Doorway pages were a strategic part of many search engine optimization companies. They promote doorway pages as a part of their SEO campaign saying that they are the best for search engines.
Doorway pages are not a SEO strategy but part of search engine spam. It is easy to detect a doorway page which is mostly meant for search engines and not for users.
