About Adsense and Adwords:
The whole concept of MFA sites originated after the introduction of Adwords and Adsense. The Google Adwords system was introduced in the millennium wherein advertisers were allowed to advertise on the search engine's results page. Of course the ads fell in context to the search list depending upon what the viewer seeks for.
Their ads would appear on the hottest places of the search engine list and thus predominantly captures the eyes of the viewers and they were very effective in making sales and thus many marketing firms welcomed the concept and invested in the Adwords system. Google made good profits out of it. Google then took this concept to a whole new system known as the Adsense system wherein ads were allowed to be placed in websites and every time a viewer clicked on one of those ads appearing in the website, the web owner is paid some amount.
The side where you could buy advertising became Google Adwords while the side where you could use your own websites to publish ads in relevance to the contents you put in your website became Google Adsense.
By this way a win-win situation was created by the Google firm which benefitted the marketing firms, the webmasters and the Google organization itself.
MFA sites:
Some people manipulated this concept to a greater extreme in many ways that would be detrimental to the web, web users and search engines which included Google itself.
Once the system of Adsense was introduced, MFA sites started appearing. MFA sites are otherwise known as Made for Adsense sites. These sites are usually filled with high cost per click Adsense ads with no other information at all. About 2/3rd of their websites is filled only with ads and nothing else. So basically they are websites of ads without any content. Some of the sites are created with some information. But that information is gathered from several other informative websites and combined together. More like copy pasting from other websites making plagiarism predominant. MFA sites are predominantly created for making money out of Adsense system without providing any useful information to viewers and thus they become parasite websites. Also MFAs use scrappers to create content for their websites. This results in too much junk in search engines. When someone's motive is only ads they will lose the interest of running quality websites.
Now these contents or keywords play a very crucial factor in search engine's analysis and result list. The search engine algorithm functions in such a way where based on the text provided in the search bar, it evaluates a pool of websites and produces the top 10 results and the rest in order sequentially. MFA sites manipulate this algorithm in order to be listed in the top 10 websites with the help of copied contents from reputable sites. This wastes people's time and is quite annoying when a search result is clicked on, only to find another list of links in form of ads without any useful information. This is definitely not what people want. These sites entirely render the search engines efficiency in producing fair results and make it useless in turn.
Another kind of MFA websites is the Adsense Arbitrage sites. These websites manipulates both the Adwords as well as Adsense systems of Google. They profit from price discrepancy. They advertise using Adwords system and when a person clicks on it, the viewer is taken to the MFA website consisting of several ads without any information.
They advertise on low cost per click keywords in Adwords and their website is designed to attract high cost per click ads. The only difference between these two types of MFA sites is that the former seeks to get free traffic from search results manipulating search engines and improving their website rank to be listed at all times in the top 10 while the latter pays for the traffic via Adwords. Since they pay for low cost per click keywords and they attract high cost per click ads in their website they make tremendous amount of profits out of every click without providing any useful information. Either ways both the kinds amalgamates search engine's results efficiency which annoys people, provides useless information, doesn't care about viewers experience or loyalty or never bothered about whether the viewer revisits the website or not. They only care about making huge sums of profits out of high cost per click Adsense ads.
The former kind of MFA website predominantly annoys viewers as they degrade the quality of search result, which the latter doesn't do. But I have come across many advertisers who feels cheated because of the way arbitrage process works. Some marketing firms are happy as they feel that a viewer clicks on their advertisements posted on MFA sites as they are interested. However, I haven't seen any user happy to land a page filled only with links to other websites in the form of ads. They have to go through another set of links and choose again in order to find the right information. It becomes like a maze, annoying viewers who want results at the quickest. They already did what was necessary during the search in search engine's results and they shouldn't be doing the same again inside another MFA website. The arbitraging concept is bad for web users as it makes the web detrimental.
Scamming in Adsense:
Due to the manipulation of search engines and the Google concepts of Adwords and Adsense, many spammers have also found new ways to manipulate people and earn more profits. For people who are interested in making some money out of Adsense but are unable to create a website by themselves, these scammers have readymade website which are also MFA websites by nature. They also charge them cheaply for such a website and the website is all set up to take Adsense ads and start earning money. In the process they cheat the buyer by arranging most of the Adsense money to go into their Adsense accounts instead of buyer's account. Also they host the particular website which makes it even easier for them to steal the revenue generated out of that particular site.

The above screen shot states that Google penalizes low end Adsense arbitrage and MFA sites spam. And the other is an example of a typical MFA site where 1/3 of the screen is occupied by Adsense. The website serves no purpose except for displaying ads on the screen.
