It has enabled companies to expand and develop a platform for a comprehensive marketing strategy via developing websites and make more business for themselves.

Knowing its depth and benefits, spammers and hackers have taken every possible means to take advantage of the scenario for their own betterment but at the cost of others. They are involved in every nook and corner of every website and it has become highly difficult to identify them. They do it solely for two reasons. One is to have fun and the other is to make business and profits for themselves by manipulating and cheating search engines and other web related organizations.
Spammers tend to inject hyperlinks of their websites in CMSs like Joomla, Drupal etc to divert the inward traffic to their website. Search engine organizations have certain algorithms for estimating a website's quality and rank them accordingly. If a website gets more backlinks from several web sites it is obviously quite famous.
Backlink acquisition is a very crucial factor that influences the ranking algorithms to rank a particular website higher. Usually it is done based on the quality of the contents of the website and the amount of traffic it attracts. However, spammer's websites have no quality content but they use several techniques to increase the flow of inward traffic to their sites by tricking web users and it shows a false report to the search engine rank algorithm for them to rank it higher. This is an illegal way of search engine optimization followed by spammers and hackers.
Basically backlinks is a very important factor for every website. It makes it easier for crawlers and bots to identify the websites; index them and increase the website's rank. Spammers engage in link injection for obtaining backlinks for their websites. They have the content management system and insert their own links with optimized keywords hidden right on the web page. Users will rarely notice it because most of the time link injections are embedded into the content or hidden from the end user.
As a result, as an SEO expert, the last time I did my research upon a particular search text, I found 7 of the top 10 result sets comprising of websites belonging to spammers providing poor quality and irrelevant contents to people.
